ANTI WRINKLE TREATMENT EALING
In a broad sense, wrinkles may develop as either hyperdynamic lines caused by repetitive movement of underlying facial musculature over the years, or as redundant skin which develops as the skin progressively loses it’s elasticity.
Botulin Toxin A is the safest and most effective non-invasive treatment for wrinkles. It works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles leading to the smoothing of the so-called hyperdynamic lines and a rejuvenated appearance.
The main areas it is used for:
Frown lines in between the eyes (Glabellar)
Crow’s feet (side of the eyes)
What is an Anti-wrinkle injection?
Botulin is a purified protein which when injected into the muscle leads to a temporary muscular relaxation. Hyperdynamic lines (e.g. Frown lines, worry lines and laughter lines) are all caused by the repeated contractions of the facial muscles. Relaxing these muscles with wrinkle injections is a quick, safe and effective way to smooth and soften the wrinkles.
What will happen during treatment?
You will be seen for an initial consultation where we will undertake a thorough facial analysis so we can come up with a tailor made treatment for you. The procedure takes 10 to 15min consisting of a small number of injections into the facial muscles responsible for the wrinkles.
Does it hurt?
The procedure is largely pain free, with the exception of mild discomfort which is experienced due to small needle injection involved. You may notice some soreness in the injection site directly after treatment, but this should subside quickly.
How quickly will I notice the effects?
You will be able to return to your daily activities immediately following treatment, there will be no visible changes. The full effect of the treatment will develop over the following 2-14 days.
How safe is it?
Anti-wrinkle injections are considered a very safe medication. It has been widely used in the UK hospitals since 1977 and in cosmetic industry over the last 15 years.
What are the side effects?
There might be slight discomfort when the needle enters the skin and there is the possibility of a small bruise at the site of the injection. There are many myths and horror stories circulating in the media: any concerns you may have will be addressed thoroughly prior to treatment. No long term side-effects have been reported.
Post Treatment Care
Clients are advised to stay upright to try to exercise the areas treated for 2-4 hours following the injections. It is important to avoid massaging these areas though. This is to prevent the diffusion of solution to adjacent muscles.
The main component of fillers is hyaluronic acid, a biosynthesized version of the one the body’s own natural substances. The amount of hyaluronic acid produced significantly as we age; the skin becomes dryer, thinner and less supple, rendering it increasingly prone to wrinkling. Injecting fillers into the skin adds volume where the body’s own hyaluronic acid has depleted.
What will happen during treatment?
Following a thorough facial analysis and detailed discussion of the proposed treatment plan, the treatment can be started straight away (no pre-test necessary). The gel is injected into the skin in small amounts with a very fine needle, immediately lifting and smoothing out wrinkles with the natural volume it provides.
How long does the treatment take?
Treatment time is approximately 30-45 minutes
How quickly will I notice an effect?
The results are instantaneous.
How long does the treatment last?
This will vary on the individual (age, lifestyle, skin structure) and the degree of correction required. It also depends on the area where the gel is placed as it will dissolve quicker in areas that have more movement (e.g. lips).
What are the possible side effects?
Fillers are considered a very safe treatment. They have a small amount of local anaesthetic, which minimizes any discomfort at the time of injection. Bruising, redness and some slight swelling at the site of treatment does sometimes occur, although rarely lasts more then a few days.
