Why do we have wrinkles?

In a broad sense, wrinkles may develop as either hyperdynamic lines caused by repetitive movement of underlying facial musculature over the years, or as redundant skin which develops as the skin progressively loses it’s elasticity.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Botulin Toxin A is the safest and most effective non invasive treatment for wrinkles. It works by  temporarily paralyzing the muscles leading to the smoothing of the so called hyperdynamic lines and a rejuvenated appearance.

The main areas it is used for:

Frown lines in between the eyes (Glabellar)

Forehead lines

Crow’s feet (side of the eyes)

FAQ’s

What is an Anti-wrinkle injection?

Botulin is a purified protein which when injected into the muscle leads to a temporary muscular relaxation. Hyperdynamic lines (e.g. Frown lines, worry lines and laughter lines) are all caused by the repeated contractions of the facial muscles. Relaxing these muscles with wrinkle injections is a quick, safe and effective way to smooth and soften the wrinkles.

Post Treatment Care

Clients are advised to stay upright to try to exercise the areas treated for 2-4 hours following the injections. It is important to avoid massaging these areas though. This is to prevent the diffusion of solution to adjacent muscles.

Dermal Fillers

The main component of fillers is hyaluronic acid, a biosynthesized version of the one the body’s own natural substances. The amount of hyaluronic acid produced significantly as we age; the skin becomes dryer, thinner and less supple, rendering it increasingly prone to wrinkling. Injecting fillers into the skin adds volume where the body’s own hyaluronic acid has depleted.
